Mariya is Ukrainian born LA based filmmaker. At 21 she launched a Kickstarter campaign to make her debut feature “Fail”. It premiered at New Filmmakers New York, won best comedy at Cinema World Fest, the award of recognition at Indie Fest.

Now she is working on her next feature “What’s Left Of Us”. It’s based on her life.

Thomas Gonzalez

Thomas Gonzalez is an editor and producer working within the New York independent film industry. Thomas's professional career started in downtown Manhattan, where he received his BFA from the Cooper Union School  of Fine Arts.  Following graduation, he co-produced his first independent feature Sheer.  Since it's completion, Sheer has received complete theatrical distribution in Italy -- the native country of the film's director Ruben Mazzoleni.  Immediately after the wrap of production of Sheer Thomas begun working on development of the series Flipsters.  Around the same time Thomas started freelancing as a video editor, it was through those connections that was introduced to Vanessa Verduga, producer and leading actress of the award-winning web-series Justicewoman. He has continued to work as the lead editor on Justicewoman through six successful seasons.  During this time he was approached by Mariya Somova whom he had worked with on her first feature "Fail".  They spent the better part of three years collaborating on their latest feature script "What's Left of Us".
